I'll never forget my client who sat in the makeup chair and said " I really don't know what I will do with pictures of myself" I simply replied "You will look at them". I secretly wondered why she came in and hoped she left with a changed mindset and would see it's about so much more than even just "looking at your images". Needless to say she LOVED her images and left with a new confidence. Then one evening I get a text from her that went something like this:
"I'm at the supper club and showing EVERYONE my beautiful pictures. 😁😁 I even showed the woman next to me who was 85! She said she always wished she had done that..."
Ladies, do NOT wait. Time isn't waiting on anyone.
I have so many women message me saying something along the lines of, "Ugh I wish I was still in my 20s, I would have done a boudoir shoot then!" or "Being a mom has aged me too fast haha! I wish I had my younger body now to do a shoot."
When I read these messages it breaks my heart because I know that no matter how old you are or what your body looks like, it seriously does NOT matter!!! As women get older they might notice that -
-their skin isn't as smooth as it used to be
-they have more wrinkles than they ever had before
-the grays are coming in faster
- they're at their heaviest weight
You know what the cool thing is about all those statements? They are all the more reasons why you should book a boudoir shoot! Aging isn't as scary as what everyone else makes it out to be! It builds character and shows what you have been through.
Maybe you're a mom and you've noticed that your breasts sag a little more and those stretch marks haven't seem to go away...but why should that stop you from showing love to your body? To me, that is true beauty. You have brought life into this world and you're beating down on yourself for what your body has gone through? I know how tough it can be to see what you used to look like compared to now but that's what makes aging that much more unique. Your body tells a story as you get older. It shows others all the battles you've been through and the journeys life has taken you on. So please, don't be ashamed about where you are at in life right now, because no matter where you are, you're at a point in time where you should be proud for how far you've come.
You don't want to be 85 years old wishing you had done a boudoir shoot. I wish I knew who that woman was so I could encourage her to come in at 85!
